Fruit Chunky Puzzle
Regular price $32.95 Save $-32.95Get ready to slice and dice with this delightful fruit-themed puzzle!
Little ones will love learning about their favourite fruits as they piece together this chunky, wooden puzzle. With bright colours and smooth edges, it's a wonderful way to encourage early learning and imaginative play. Ideal for toddlers and beyond.
Featuring a collection of delicious-looking fruit, it's a fun and educational way to develop hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills and shape recognition.
It also allows children to learn to identify and name different fruits.
Some ideas for enhancing and encouraging play and learning:
- Find the strawberry. Is that a banana?
- What colour is the pineapple?
- Talk about each fruit. What are the characteristics of the fruit?
- Have the child identify these fruits from photographs in a book or on the internet. This will allow the child to transition from the stylised representations of the puzzle pieces to the actual fruit.
Suitable for ages 18m+
Fractions with Numbers Puzzle
Regular price $32.95 Save $-32.95An educational puzzle which offers learning across all preschool milestones. At its simplest, it can be used for the basic shape, number and colour recognition and at its most complex for development of numeracy skills, in particular the understanding of the concept of parts of a whole or fractions.
Some examples of ways to encourage the development of logical thinking and foundation numeracy skills:
- Suitable for ages 3+
- Looking at and naming the shapes of all the pieces
- Looking at and discuss the different colours
- For older children, the concept of parts of a whole can be discussed. The blue circle is one whole but what is different about the other pieces? For example, there are 4 orange squares but when put together they make a whole. This is an opportunity to talk about quarters. Later, during the school years, this puzzle can be revisited to help with the understanding of decimals, for example, 25% instead of a quarter.
