UPPAbaby Vista V2 Review

When we decided to upgrade our pram after baby number two came along, I searched all over Amazon and other product review websites for the perfect pram for day-to-day life. Enter the Vista V2 by UPPAbaby. I’d read rave reviews about this pram, so I had to get it. Does it live up to the hype? In short – YES!

This UPPAbaby Vista V2 Pram review is broken up into 10 sections that go through each major feature with our rating for each one to help you decide if the Vista V2 is the right pram is right for you! We’re looking at; Versatility and Configurations, Carrycot Features, The Reversible Toddler Seat, Suspension and Wheel Features, Infant Car Seat Compatibility, Expansion Options, Design and Aesthetics, Overall Experience and more!

1

Versatility and Configurations: 10/10

The UPPAbaby Vista v2 is designed for multiple configurations, allowing it to transport up to three children while still feeling like you’re strolling with a single stroller.

  • This is a huge selling point for the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and the main reason I settled on this model. It boasts multiple configurations that let you customise it to suit your growing family.
  • The pram comes with a carrycot for newborns and a toddler seat for when your baby grows bigger. You then have the option to turn your single stroller into a double stroller by attaching the UPPAbaby RumbleSeat (not included) and even a triple stroller with the Piggyback board for toddlers who want to ride along behind.
  • There are plenty of different configurations, depending on the age of your kids. You can have 2 carrycots, 2 infant car seats, 2 toddler seats or a combination of both. My favourite configuration for a newborn and a toddler is to have the carrycot below the main seat. My toddler gets to sit up nice and high while I can keep an eye on my newborn at all times.

Carrycot Features: 9/10

The included Carrycot is perfect for naps on the go. It has a ventilated canopy, an extendable UPF 50+ sunshade, an aerated mattress and base, and a water-repellant inner liner. It’s also designed as an overnight sleep solution.

  • The UPPAbaby bassinet comes with the V2 and we use it for our newborn. It has a weight limit of up to 9kg and can be used until the baby starts to push up on their hands and knees.
  • The bassinet comes with a handy rain cover and extendable sunshade which pops out and completely covers the baby to protect them from harmful UV rays and other elements. There’s also mesh panels for plenty of airflow.
  • One of the things that I love most about the bassinet is that it doubles as an overnight sleep solution for newborns. It’s deep, so cosy and ventilated with a good mattress that’s long and perfect for growing babies. The mattress pad is also removable while the mattress pad cover and zip-out liner is machine-washable.

Reversible Toddler Seat: 10/10

The toddler seat is reversible, allowing your child to face forward or backwards. It also features a one-handed recline and an extendable UPF 50+ canopy.

  • The reversible toddler seat has been a big plus when using this stroller. It can be easily turned forward facing so that your toddler can see where they’re going or you can turn it around to face the parent instead.
  • It also has multiple recline positions that can be operated one-handed so that toddlers can lie back at any angle they want. My toddler loves sitting upright in the seat and holding onto the bumper bar as we go on our walks.
  • When he gets sleepy, I can recline the seat back so that he can take a nap. The V2 footrest is deeper than the original model which makes it comfier and more stable. The leg rest is also adjustable so that you can align it with the position of the toddler seat.

Handlebar and Canopy Adjustments: 8/10

The stroller features a telescoping leather handlebar that’s adjustable for parents of varying heights. The canopy is also height-adjustable.

  • The telescoping handlebar lets you adjust the height of the bar to suit the height of the adult pushing the pram. I’m quite short and my partner is tall so this is such a handy feature for us.
  • It’s also covered in 100% full-grain leather which is buttery soft for a luxe feel and is easy to grip. The canopy can be adjusted too, sliding up as your child grows bigger.
  • In terms of how much coverage it gives, I would say it’s one of the largest you can get. It reaches right over the seat to fully shade little ones from the sun and it’s also great in keeping the rain off kids if you’ve forgotten the rain cover. The new V2 model includes a peek-a-boo window and the back of the carrycot canopy unzips for extra airflow.

Foldability and Storage: 8/10

The UPPAbaby Vista v2 has a one-step fold mechanism and can stand on its own when folded. It also boasts an extra-large, easy-access storage basket.

  • The Visa V2 boasts a ‘one-step-fold’ design that’s intuitive and easy to use. It can be a bit tricky to get the hang of it the first time round but once you do, it’s a breeze. Make sure that you put the brake on first so that it doesn’t move forward when you’re trying to close it.
  • Also, push back the canopy first and extend the handlebar to its highest position before pulling up the 2 levers and rotating the handlebar to the ground. You need 2 hands! It does stand up on its own which is great and I can easily store it away in a corner or around the house when it’s not being used.
  • When folded, the pram is a bit bulky which might be an issue if you wish to travel and have a small car boot. The basket size is amazing and all of my baby products and other things fit in with no problem. Love the large opening that makes it easy for me to reach in and get whatever I need.

Suspension and Wheel Features: 10/10

The stroller comes with shock-absorbing, all-wheel suspension to ensure a smooth ride. It also has front wheel locks with visual indicators.

  • I find the Vista V2 to be a dream to push. All-wheel suspension means it glides so smoothly over any terrain and I can manoeuvre it around tight corners really easily. I’ve taken it all around the city as well as on walks over rougher terrain and my little one can sleep through thanks to the shock-absorbing feature.
  • For a full-size stroller, it’s probably the smoothest stroller I’ve ever used. The front wheel lock feature definitely helps me when I’m travelling over bumpy ground as it keeps the wheels steady and makes it easier to keep the pram moving smoothly.
  • The visual indicators are a nice touch and let you know when the wheels are locked and unlocked. While the V2 certainly goes over different terrains, it isn’t a proper jogging stroller so if you are a regular jogger I would recommend a different model.

Infant Car Seat Compatibility: 9/10

The stroller is compatible with select infant car seats from brands like Maxi-Cosi®, Nuna®, BeSafe®, and Joie™.

  • The Vista V2 makes an excellent travel system that has made it easy for us to go on long and short adventures. The lower car seat adapters let you attach compatible infant car seats to the second seat so that you can go from car to pram with ease.
  • The adaptors have made it really easy for us to just snap the car seat into the pram and start strolling. You could also buy the UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat which means you won’t need to purchase any other adaptors.
  • If you’re flying, I recommend purchasing the UPPAbaby travel bag to protect your pram during air travel. It can be used to cover the Vista and V2 models as well as UPPAbaby Cruz and Cruz V2 models and we find that it has really been worth it.

Expansion Options: 10/10

The UPPAbaby Vista v2 offers various expansion options, including the ability to transport up to three children with the addition of the RumbleSeat and PiggyBack accessories.

  • As I mentioned above, the expansion feature of the Vista V2 is a huge reason why this model and brand is so popular with parents, especially first-time parents who plan on expanding their family. The V2 comes with a bassinet and a toddler seat included so that you can continue to use it as your child grows.
  • You can attach a second seat (RumbleSeat) to the main seat so that two toddlers can ride together while the pram stays the same width as a single stroller.
  • You can also change up the configuration using lower and upper adapters to have 2 carrycots, a RumbleSeat and infant car seat, 2 infant car seats and more. If you have an older child, the Piggyback board lets them ride along behind while taking a rest.

Design and Aesthetics: 9/10

Comment on the design, color options, and the use of 100% full-grain leather accents.

  • The Vista V2 really is style meets functionality. It looks very sleek and luxurious with 100% full-grain leather accents and a modern design that you can show off in any trendy city.
  • It comes in a wide range of natural colours, including black, green, grey and oatmeal. We went with Emmett which has green melange, silver frame and saddle leather. The ability to customise the pram even further to suit my lifestyle was a real bonus.
  • There is the option to attach the UPPAbaby cup holder and snack tray to the bumper bar which I’ve used countless times (the cup holder is the perfect size for a sippy cup!). The UPPAbaby parent organiser also comes in handy when I need extra space for my groceries and attaches nicely to the handlebar for easy access.

Overall Experience: 9/10

My personal experience using the Vista V2 Pram boils down to ease of use and comfort for my child.

  • Overall, I’m super happy with the Vista V2 and find the price tag worth it. I had researched other popular brands like Bugaboo and Cybex but ultimately found that UPPAbaby would be the best fit for us and so far it has been perfect.
  • Both kids love riding in it and we have the flexibility to configure it as they grow bigger. We have found that it can be a bit heavy to lift and quite bulky with the expansion attachments when folded. This could be an issue if you’re a solo parent and travelling upstairs often or have a small car boot.
